The starting XI for England's Euro 2020 opening vs Croatia

Southgate must now choose his starting lineup for England.

Gareth Southgate has named his 26-man team for England's rescheduled European Championship campaign, which began with a 1-0 win over Austria on Wednesday night.

Southgate must now decide on his starting lineup ahead of their Euro 2020 campaign against Group D foes Croatia at Wembley.

The PA news agency has predicted how England's team will look for the June 13 match.

Jordan Pickford

For a long time, the Everton goalkeeper has been Southgate's first option between the posts, but his position appeared to be threatened by Burnley goalie Nick Pope. Due to Pope's absence from the finals due to knee surgery, Pickford is expected to be trusted with the gloves once more, especially given his understudies' lack of international experience.

Kyle Walker

Given that Southgate chose four players for the position in his squad, England's right-back position is one of the most desired in the team. Walker has had a strong season for Manchester City and is another player who has been called upon so frequently by England manager Gareth Southgate that he appears to be at the top of the pecking order, despite the fact that he, like all City, Manchester United, and Chelsea players, was absent from the squad  from the Austria win following their European final appearances.

Tyrone Mings

Southgate would have no doubt selected Manchester United captain Harry Maguire for his starting XI, but he has conceded that an ankle injury will keep him out of the competition. This offers the door for a number of other players, although Mings is comfortable in a back four and has nine caps after starting the triumph on Wednesday night.

John Stones

With Maguire out, John Stones is set to take on the position of senior defensive partner in the heart of England's defense. The Manchester City defender is prone to lapses in focus, but his place is all but secure, especially if Southgate opts for a back four.

Ben Chilwell

After helping Chelsea defeat Walker and Stones' City in the Champions League final on Saturday, the Chelsea defender will be in great spirits coming into the England camp. Chilwell will have to be at his best to secure the left-back position against heavy opposition in the form of an in-form Luke Shaw.

Declan Rice

Rice, who wore the West Ham armband for much of the season, was instrumental in the Hammers' transformation from relegation contenders to European qualifiers. Southgate's back four will be tested by the defensive midfielder, who is also capable of carrying the ball forward to initiate assaults.

Jude Bellingham

Southgate's boldest choice would be 17-year-old Jude Bellingham, but the Borussia Dortmund midfielder has shown he can handle the pressure. His berth in the Euros squad was secured after a succession of strong performances in the Champions League, and he made an impression on his maiden international start against Austria.

Mason Mount

Earlier this season, the Chelsea man appeared to divide opinion among England fans, particularly among those who believed his position in the team should have gone to Jack Grealish. He has, however, justified Southgate's decision to keep him and has excelled for both club and country in the past year, earning him a spot in the starting XI.

Phil Foden

While Sterling's form has dipped in recent weeks, he has cemented his place in Southgate's team, with only captain Harry Kane outscoring him in terms of goals. That should keep him in good stead and allow him to keep his place in Manchester City's starting lineup.

Raheem Sterling

The captain is unquestionably a starter. Last season, the Tottenham striker earned the Premier League's most goals and assists accolades, and he'll be raring to go for England. Kane's form in front of goal, which earned him the golden boot at the 2018 World Cup, will determine how far England progresses in the competition.
